Too much choice can lead to confusion.
The
telecommunications market today has never been more cluttered. There are the
traditional PABX and Key Systems, software-based systems that sit on
computer servers, systems from computer networking and router companies,
then you could buy your telecommunications solution from companies that make
household electronics, or struggle with “free” telephony software downloaded
from the web.
Then
there are fully converged voice and data systems from traditional and new
Telco’s to consider. Not to mention “hosted” solutions that require no
physical infrastructure on premise..
Throw
into the equation the so called “free telephone systems” from people who
want to sign you up you to their seemingly low cost telephone call plans.
Without
their own in-house telecommunications experts how are SMBs supposed to cut
through all this clutter and make a sound telecommunications investment?
